Types of Psychological Tests
Psychological Tests can broadly be grouped into two camps Individual Tests versus Group Tests
Group tests
Group tests are usually paper-pencil tests Suitable for testing the large population at the same time.
Individual Test
Individual tests are those that obviously by their design and purpose is essential to administer one by one.
For convenience, we divide the psychological tests into eight categories which are given below:
1) Achievement Tests:
Achievement Tests measures the individual’s current status of proficiency in given areas of knowledge and skill.
2) Aptitude Tests:
Aptitude tests are designed to predict the capacity of individual how well he perform in a specific task or skill.
3) Creativity Tests:
Creativity tests are used to assess the novelty, innovation and original thinking of individuals.
4) Intelligence Tests:
Asses an individual’s ability in relatively global areas like verbal comprehension, perceptual organization, reasoning etc.
5) Personality tests:
Are used to measure the traits and behavior that define the person’s individuality.
6) Neuropsychological tests:
Neuropsychological tests are used to measure persons intellectual, sensual, perceptual ,motor functioning and interactive significances of brain damage.
7) Behavioral procedure:
Objectively define and count the frequency of a behavior.
8) Interest Inventories
Interest Inventories are designed to help the individuals to determine occupational choice.
