Spy chronicle or international agenda
The spy chronicle: Raw, ISI and the illusion of peace is the joint effort of ex-chiefs of Research and Analytical Wing and Inter-Services Intelligence. The book reveals the operational capacities, successes, and failures of the top two-secret agencies. General Assad Durrani writes in his book that Kargil war is the result of the ego of General Musharraf. He also praises the raw success in 1971.
On the other hand, A.S Dulat ex-chief of raw praises the ISI agents that he doesn’t think ever ISI agent change his loyalty. Moreover, he demands his govt to start peace effort with Pakistan because we cannot remain enemies forever. Although it is very tough in the current situation. General Durrani also accepted that ISI could not understand the ground realities in Kashmir. He also raises the point that Pakistani prime minister afraid of ISI while he also writes that ISI takes self-decision on national security.
These revelations have increased the psychological pressure on Pakistan army. In fact, Pakistan army considers itself as the savior of the nation. Some scholars think it may be the extension of the agenda of an international establishment to weaken Pakistan. Because the more Pakistan army will be weak, the more Pakistan is vulnerable. Somehow, the book may or may not international agenda. But the revelation cannot be ignored.
